Job summary

Jackson Creek Memory Care is seeking a dedicated cook to maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and prepare meals in large quantities for residents. You will follow menus, prepare special diets, and assist with serving while ensuring food safety and proper temperatures.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, hospital or long-term care cooking experience, and a ServSafe certificate. You will work with dietary staff, report concerns, and may supervise when the Dietary Supervisor is

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long term care facility for at least 1 year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking areas in a safe, orderly, clean, and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guidelines.
• Prepare special diets accurately according to resident needs and dietary orders.
• Record food temperatures for all meals.
• Prepare pureed foods according to established guidelines.
• Assist with serving meals to residents.
• Clean and sanitize cooking areas and serving carts.
• Report resident care concerns to the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• In the absence of the Dietary Supervisor, perform supervisory responsibilities.
• Ensure food presentation is appealing to residents.
• Cooperate with staff across departments.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules.
