Job summary

Pine Creek Care Center in Roseville, CA is seeking a dedicated cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare tasteful meals, cook a variety of foods in large quantities, and follow menus and portion guides.

Responsibilities include maintaining a sanitary kitchen, recording temperatures, assisting with serving, and supporting dietary staff training. Requires a high school diploma, 1 year hospital/long-term care cooking experience, and ServSafe

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and technical procedures.
• Capable of presenting information to managers and staff.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures; prepare pureed foods; cooperate with staff across departments.
• Maintain sanitizer buckets; assist with serving meals.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses; participate in training of dietary staff.
• Present food appealing to residents and supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed; maintain supervisory responsibilities in absence of supervisor.
