Job summary

SILVERCREEK is seeking a kitchen cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The role requires preparing meals, following menus, and maintaining sanitary conditions in a hospital or long-term care facility.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of hospital cook experience, can follow recipes, and are able to work in a team to ensure high-quality meals and dietary accuracy. ServSafe certification may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and proper kitchen organization.
• Assist with serving meals and supervising dietary staff when directed.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
