Job summary

Facility Name is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare meals in accordance with menus and therapeutic diets, under the supervision of the Dietary Manager. The role involves coordinating with the Dietitian, maintaining sanitation, and supporting daily kitchen operations to ensure on-time meal service.

The ideal candidate is 18+, has a current Food Handlers Permit, and may have prior supervisory experience in a hospital or long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Current/ Active Food Handlers Permit.
• One (1) year dietary/food service supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus prior to food preparation and prepares the meals.
• Works with the Dietitian/Director of Food Services and implements changes as required.
• Performs administrative requirements such as completing forms and reports.
• Establishes food service production line and ensures meals are prepared on time.
• Prepares meals in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensures stock levels of food, supplies, and equipment are maintained.
