Job summary

Live Well Healthcare Solutions is seeking a skilled cook for our Fairfax Nursing Center. The role focuses on preparing nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a high-volume setting, following standardized recipes and ensuring attractive plating.

You will support the Dietary Manager in their absence, maintain strict kitchen sanitation, manage inventory, and assist with purchasing and recipe development. Flexibility for special events is important.

Qualifications

• Classically trained cook with experience in high-volume culinary operations.
• Experience in healthcare food service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Culinary Excellence: Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, and cook a variety of nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner following standardized recipes.
• Plating & Presentation: Plate and garnish all cooked items expertly to ensure an attractive menu presentation.
• Leadership Support: Act as a liaison for the Dietary Manager during their absence to ensure seamless meal prep and delivery.
• Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain high sanitation standards by thoroughly cleaning the kitchen and all culinary equipment before and after food service.
• Inventory & Recipe Management: Manage inventory, handle stock rotation, assist with purchasing, and ensure recipe development and compliance.
• Special Events: Flexibly handle last-minute culinary requests for special events and facility functions.
