Job summary

Deer Park Health and Rehab is seeking reliable Dietary Cooks for both full-time and part-time shifts. You will prepare meals, desserts and snacks, following posted menus and accommodating special diets for the senior population.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, being at least 18, and a compassionate approach. Benefits include health and dental insurance, 401(k) and paid time off; shift is 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday with every other weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be compassionate towards the senior population.
• Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule; follows special diets and dietary concerns.
• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable.
• Maintains a clean, organized, sanitized work area (washing pots/pans, etc.).
• Knows health code requirements for food storage and hot/cold holding temperatures; maintains documentation.
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions.
• Maintains a safe, clean and respectable work environment.
• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.

Dietary Cook Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule; makes sure that all special diets and dietary concerns are followed

• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable

• Responsible for keeping work area clean, organized, sanitized, may include washing pots and pans, etc

• Knows health code requirements for food and beverage storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation

• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions

• Maintains a safe, clean and respectable work environment

• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs

Dietary Cook Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Must be compassionate towards the senior population

• Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures

The shift for this position is 5:00 AM-1:30 PM, M-F including every other weekend.
