Job summary

Deer Park Health and Rehab in North Carolina is seeking reliable Dietary Cooks for full-time and part-time roles. You will prepare meals, desserts and snacks according to the posted menu with attention to dietary restrictions for residents.

The shift is 12pm-8pm, Monday through Friday with every other weekend. A high school diploma or GED is required, you must be at least 18, and you should be compassionate toward seniors while maintaining cleanliness and health standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks per the posted menu and follows special diets.
• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable.

• Follows health code requirements for food storage and temperature control; maintains documentation.
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions.
• Maintains a safe, clean and professional work environment.
• Attends and participates in continuing education programs.

Dietary Cook Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule; makes sure that all special diets and dietary concerns are followed
• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable
• Responsible for keeping work area clean, organized, sanitized, may include washing pots and pans, etc
• Knows health code requirements for food and beverage storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions
• Maintains a safe, clean and respectable work environment
• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs

Dietary Cook Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be compassionate towards the senior population
• Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures

The shift for this position is 12pm-8pm, M-F including every other weekend.
