Job summary

Live Well Healthcare Solutions, in partnership with Royal Megansett Nursing and Rehabilitation, is seeking a Cook to support meal preparation for residents. You will prepare, portion, and plate meals per recipes, while maintaining high sanitation standards and collaborating with the Dietary Manager.

This role requires flexibility to cover weekend shifts and to assist with inventory, recipe management, and special events, ensuring nutritious, appealing menu options for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation in healthcare or hospitality settings.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety guidelines.
• Attention to portion control and plate presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Plate and garnish dishes to ensure appealing presentation.
• Assist Dietary Manager during their absence to ensure meal prep continuity.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Manage inventory and assist with recipe development and compliance.
• Support special events and last-minute requests.

Position Overview & Key Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Culinary Excellence: Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, and cook a variety of nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner following standardized recipes.
• Plating & Presentation: Plate and garnish all cooked items expertly to ensure an attractive menu presentation.
• Leadership Support: Act as a liaison for the Dietary Manager during their absence to ensure seamless meal prep and delivery.
• Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain high sanitation standards by thoroughly cleaning the kitchen and all culinary equipment before and after food service.
• Inventory & Recipe Management: Manage inventory, handle stock rotation, assist with purchasing, and ensure recipe development and compliance.
• Special Events: Flexibly handle last-minute culinary requests for special events and facility functions.
