Job summary

Serenity Spring Senior Living at Jasonville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Jasonville, Indiana is seeking a Cook to join our dietary team. You will prepare meals in a fast-paced environment and supervise support staff to ensure timely service.

Responsibilities include following sanitary policies, maintaining clean storage, and reporting hazards to the Food Service Director. Previous long-term care cooking experience and ServeSafe certification are desired.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• SERVESAFE certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• Experience in long-term care cooking or culinary education.
• Knowledge of food sanitation and batch cooking.
• Long-Term Care Cooking: 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and facility procedures.
• Ensure safety regulations and precautions are followed by all personnel.
• Adhere to infection control policies during daily tasks.
• Assist and direct daily cleaning duties per policies.
• Maintain clean and safe food service area and equipment.
• Report hazardous conditions to the Food Service Director.
• Manage and stock food storage areas appropriately.

The Serenity Spring Senior Living at Jasonville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Jasonville, Indiana, is seeking a Cook Candidate must be able to work in fast paced environment and supervise support staff.

Responsibilities of Cook/ Supervisor:

• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures

• Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times by all personnel

• Follow established Infection Control Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks

• Assist and direct daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures

• Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained

• Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Food Service Director immediately

• Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times

Requirements of Cook

• High School Graduate/ High school or equivalent

• SERVESAFE Certified or willing to become SERVESAFE Certified

• Cooking background in long-term care facility and /or Culinary Education

• Knowledge of food sanitation and batch cooking

• Long-Term Care Cooking Required: 1 year preferred
