Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join our dietary team in a long-term care facility. The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, appetizing meals in accordance with physician orders, resident dietary needs, and facility standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
  • Ensure meals meet dietary requirements, including modified and therapeutic diets.
  • Review production sheets and prepare food in appropriate quantities.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures and adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with food prep, portioning, and plating as needed.
  • Ensure kitchen, equipment, and work areas are clean and sanitized at all times.
  • Receive, store, and rotate food supplies according to regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments.
  • Follow all local, state, and federal regulations, including sanitation and infection control standards.
Qualifications
  • Previous cooking experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets is a plus.
