Job summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bastrop is seeking an experienced Dietary Aide to join our Dietary Team. The role involves stocking, preparing, serving, and documenting meals, while ensuring diets meet physician orders and dietary guidelines. You will assist with temperature control, labeling, and equipment cleanliness, and support patients with beverages and choices.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and CPR/BLS is preferred. ServSafe is also preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding food preparation and serving.
• CPR/BLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in stocking, preparation, serving, presentation, and documentation of food per policies.
• Serve special diets as ordered by physician and approved by dietitian.
• Ensure patients receive meals per physician orders and menus.
• Keep food temps within regulatory guidelines during service and transport.
• Assist cooks to maintain recipes and nutritional content.
• Deliver snacks and nourishment as needed.
• Monitor temperatures of refrigerators and warming equipment.
• Label and date items; maintain cleanliness of equipment and serving area.
• Assist patients with beverages and choices; work with multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in evening, weekend, and holiday rotations; attend meetings and training.
