Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support kitchen operations. Responsibilities include setting up meal trays, assisting with meal service, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment. You will learn routines quickly and work under the Cook and Dietary supervisor.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to follow recipes, and willingness to obtain a food handlers' certificate. Collaborative teamwork is essential in a busy post-acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Monitor dishwasher water temperatures during cycles.
• Operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen.
• Take out trash and garbage.
• Store groceries safely and neatly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and assist cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Collaborate harmoniously with all departments.
