Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine quickly.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip and wash returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher water temperatures during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Store groceries safely and neatly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and assist when asked by cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing dietary staff training.
• Work cooperatively with personnel across departments.
