Job summary

Lexington-Post-Acute is seeking a Dietary Aide to support kitchen and dining services. You will learn food service routines, set up meal trays, assist with serving meals, and help with dishwashing. You will also monitor dish machine water temps and chlorine levels.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and obtain a food handlers’ certificate. The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Mathematical skills including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Reasoning ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen after shifts.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary condition and assist cooks or dietary supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
