Job summary

Lexington in is seeking a Dietary Aide to support kitchen operations. You will learn the routine quickly, assist with serving meals, wash dishes, check dishwashing temperatures, and help maintain a clean, sanitary work environment.

This role reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor. A high school diploma is required, along with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and obtain a food handlers certificate. We value teamwork and reliability and provide ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Read technical procedures.
• Follow recipes as written.
• Ability to present information to managers and staff.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of written or schedule forms.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher water temperatures during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away safely.
• Leave kitchen clean and sanitary and assist Cook or Dietary Supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with all departments.
