Job summary

COONEY is seeking a dietary aide to assist in daily kitchen operations, including meal service, dishwashing, and food preparation. You will learn routines quickly, help with serving meals, and ensure a clean, sanitary kitchen environment while coordinating with the cook and dietary supervisor.

Responsibilities include operating the dishwasher, checking water temperatures, handling groceries, and participating in staff training. A high school diploma and food handler certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers' certificate.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly and assist with serving meals.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes; operate dishwasher.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher water temperatures during cycles and maintain equipment.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks and keep kitchen clean and sanitary.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors; carry out trash and garbage disposal.
• Put groceries away safely and cooperate with all departments.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing dietary staff training.
