Job summary

Orchard view Post Acute is seeking a dietary aide who can quickly learn the food service routine and assist in meal service. You will set up trays, wash dishes, prepare nourishments, and help keep the kitchen clean and sanitary under supervision.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to obtain a food handlers' certificate. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds and coordinating with the cook and dietary supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read recipes and follow procedures.
• Ability to work with dietary staff and in kitchen environment.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers' certificate.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine within a short period.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe water temperatures of dishwasher during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work in cooperation with personnel in all departments.
