Job summary

CARNEGIEPARK in seeks a Dietary Aide to support daily kitchen operations and meal service. You will learn the food service routine quickly and assist with tray disposal and dishwashing to maintain a clean, sanitary environment.

The role requires following recipes, understanding food safety, and collaborating with the Cook and dietary supervisor to ensure smooth shifts. A high school diploma is required, and you must obtain a food handler certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read technical procedures is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and present information clearly to managers/employees.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine within a short period.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher water temperatures during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
