Job summary

Park Avenue Extended Care in Long Beach, NY is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide to join our Food and Nutrition Services team on a part-time basis with varied shifts.

You will help prepare simple foods, set up dining areas, serve meals, and assist with inventories while maintaining clean, sanitary kitchen spaces and following safety procedures. Weekend and holiday availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Strong attention to detail and a dependable, team-oriented work ethic.
• Manual dexterity to handle dishes, trays and kitchen equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing simple foods and beverages, including toast, tea, and coffee.
• Set up dining areas, serving counters, meal trays, and tables for meal service.
• Serve, transport, and deliver meals, food trays, and supplies to designated areas.
• Assist with food and supply inventories, requisitions, and storage.
• Wash dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment by hand or with a dishwasher.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, tables, serving counters, floors, walls, and other food service areas.
• Remove leftover food, dispose of garbage, and clean food carts and waste containers.
• Maintain proper personal hygiene and follow food safety procedures.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, and serving as directed by the supervisor.
• Move equipment and supplies and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Adapt to changing daily assignments and assist in different food service areas, including weekends and holidays.
