Advocate Health seeks a part-time Diet Clerk at 11903 Advocate Condell Medical Center - Food and Nutrition in Libertyville, IL. The role supports patient meals, diet orders, and departmental data entry in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include order taking, interfacing with the nursing team and RD as needed, and maintaining diet office records. Requires 1 year in hospitality, strong diet knowledge, and proficient English.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in hospitality industry with customer service experience.
• Strong working knowledge of various therapeutic diets.
• Knowledge of medical terminology (e.g., TID, BID).
• Ability to speak, read and write English clearly for essential job activities.
• Computer skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between patient/customers and the Food Services department.
• Proactively communicate with patients during meal order taking with good service standards.
• Enter patient names and diet orders in the diet office system and take meal orders by phone.
• Complete daily/monthly tallies and run end-of-shift reports.
• Assist with menus by telephone and explain diet items to patients as needed.
• Consult RD for medical nutrition therapy when diet comprehension is poor.
• Update diet office system with special nutritional needs and communicate with kitchen staff.
• Print patient meal/diet reports and complete clerical tasks for the Diet Office.
