Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a part-time Diet Clerk to provide administrative support in the Dietary Call Center. The role involves processing diet orders, helping patients with menu choices, and managing diet-related questions in a high-volume setting.

Qualified candidates may have a Food Handler Card, EMR experience, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities. This on-site position offers benefits and requires weekend/evening availability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process diet orders and assist patients with menu selections.

• Serve as liaison between Nursing and Food and Nutrition Services for patient questions and issues.

This is a part-time, fully benefitted position located at our Scripps Health Corporate Dietary Call Center in 4S Ranch. Must be available to work 5 days a week including weekends (Both Saturday and Sunday) and evenings (11:00am-7:30pm).

Our Diet Clerks provide administrative and clerical support for Food and Nutrition Services. Responsibilities include processing diet orders, assisting patients with menu selections, and distinguishing between food and medication allergies, maintaining current diet orders and menus to ensure compliance to the physician diet order. Diet Clerks must be able to function effectively in a high-volume call center environment. Serving as the liaison between Nursing and Food and Nutrition Services departments handling patient complaints, food issues and basic questions about meals/diets.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• SD County Food Handler Card, or Food Safety Certificate, or able to pass Food Handlers test given by certified manager or designee within 30 days of hire.
