Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in Stanfield, Oregon is seeking a Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technician to diagnose and repair brakes, HVAC, drivetrains, and electrical systems on semi-trucks and trailers. You will perform PM inspections and fleet servicing, operate diagnostic tools, and respond to roadside calls when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (trade school certification a plus).
• Prior experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet technician, or heavy truck mechanic preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
• Must be able to lift/move tires and equipment (30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids).
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to work in varying conditions (weather, noise, physical demands).
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems on semi-trucks and trailers, including brakes.
• Service HVAC, drivetrains, electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and fleet inspections.
• Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues accurately.
• Perform tire-related services (mounting, balancing, repairing) as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed.
• Respond to roadside service calls with a company service truck when required.
• Assist with parts inventory and shop organization.
