Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technician in TX to diagnose, repair, and maintain semi-trucks and trailers across a national fleet. You will handle brakes, HVAC, drivetrains, electrical systems, and PM inspections, while performing roadside service when needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, prior diesel mechanic experience, and a valid driver’s license. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are provided, with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification is a plus.
• Prior experience as a diesel/fleet/truck mechanic preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
• Must be able to lift/move tires and equipment (30–250 lbs).
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems on semi-trucks and trailers, including brakes, HVAC, drivetrains and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and fleet inspections.
• Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues.
• Perform tire-related services and TPMS maintenance.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and follow safety guidelines.
