Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technician in Findlay, OH to diagnose and repair brakes, HVAC, drivelines, and electrical systems on semi-trucks and trailers. The role covers PM inspections, fleet checks, and roadside service support.

The technician will use diagnostics tools, maintain records, and comply with DOT safety guidelines while handling tires and related services in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certs are a plus.
• Prior diesel/heavy truck mechanic experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Work on Brakes, HVAC, Drivetrains, and Electrical systems.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and fleet checks.
• Operate diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues accurately.
• Carry out tire-related services (mounting, balancing, repair).
• Use TPMS and maintain detailed work records.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, policies, and DOT rules.
• Respond to roadside calls with company service truck as needed.
• Assist with parts inventory and shop organization.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
