Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technician to diagnose and repair mechanical systems on semi-trucks and trailers, including brakes, HVAC, drivetrains, and electrical systems. You will perform PM inspections, fleet maintenance, and roadside service as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (trade school certification a plus).
• Prior experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet technician, or heavy truck mechanic preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
• Must be able to lift/move tires and equipment (30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids).
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to work in varying conditions (weather, noise, physical demands).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Repair brakes, HVAC systems, drivetrains, and electrical systems.
• Perform PM inspections and fleet maintenance.
• Operate diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues.
• Conduct tire-related services and TPMS maintenance.
• Maintain detailed records and ensure safety and DOT compliance.
• Respond to roadside service calls and assist with parts inventory.
