Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, braking systems, engines, HVAC, suspension, and drive train. You may also perform basic tire work and support our fleet with on-site and road service to keep vehicles in operation.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of technician experience or automotive schooling, with potential ASE certifications and a CDL.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks or automotive training.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technician position or automotive college graduation within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs vehicle components and systems on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance; refuse bodies and braking systems.
• Light engine repair; suspension, drivetrain and steering systems; HVAC.
• Performs line welding and fabrication and provides road service when needed.
• Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools and completes required training.
