Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0-1 year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Work independently and as a member of a team.
• Professional representation of Ryder to customers and colleagues.
• Time management and priority setting skills.
• Good attendance and performance history.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office.
• Beginner level knowledge of machines and tools; shop systems familiarity preferred.
• CDL Class A, preferred.
• DOT safety regulated position; safety sensitive; age/work hours per state law.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into/out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or rental shop.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues.
• Maintain fuel island area and inventories.
• Attend and complete technician training program requirements.
• Follow safety policies and maintain 6S standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service tasks as trained.
• Assist with environmental safety and spill response.
