Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in New Brunswick, New Jersey is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. You will train on-site to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with on-going pay during training and a pathway to advanced technician roles.

The position offers on-the-job training, first shift hours, and a comprehensive benefits package after probation. Applicants with little to no experience are welcome; CDL is a plus, with extensive safety and equipment training provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn equipment.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or delivery to rental shop.
• Perform multi-point vehicle inspections and report issues.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
