Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Waterbury, CT is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. This entry-level role offers on-the-job training with competitive hourly pay and a path to advancement within a full-service shop environment.

You will work Monday–Friday, 11:30 am–8:00 pm, with weekends off. Benefits begin after 30 days, plus tool reimbursement, PTO, 401(k) match, uniforms, and ongoing training to keep you ahead.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to read/understand English.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles and wash/detail as needed, fuel diesel/natural gas/hybrid vehicles per safety policies.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues to shop.
• Maintain service islands and assist with facility maintenance.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments.
