Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Waterbury, CT is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. You will be paid while training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and growth opportunities.

The role requires no prior experience, offers on-the-job training, and includes paid training, medical/dental/vision after 30 days, and 401(k) matching. You will join a safety‑focused workplace with state‑of‑the‑art tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0–1 year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery preferred.
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems; work independently or in a team.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsabilités

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or delivered to rental shop; wash and detail vehicles; fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles while adhering to shop safety policies; record fuel activity and maintain inventories.
• Perform multi-point inspection on inbound units per company policies; check tires, fluids, lights, windows; report issues to shop.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards; perform facility maintenance and minor tasks as assigned.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments across multiple training tracks.
• Perform other duties as assigned
