Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee in Wilmington, Delaware. You will be paid while training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with second shift hours and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn to use and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or deliveries; wash and detail vehicles and fuel as required following safety policies.
• Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units and report issues to shop.
• Maintain fuel island area and assist with facility maintenance.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
