Job summary
Dollar General Fleet is hiring diesel technicians in Blair, NE to ensure trucks, trailers, and yard tractors meet safety and federal standards. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, diagnostics, and preventive care with company-supported tools.
The successful candidate will have at least one year on Class A trucks, experience with air brakes, hydraulics and electrical systems, plus welding/fabrication. Compensation includes weekly pay and a solid benefits package.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working on Class A trucks.
- Experience with air brakes, hydraulic & electrical systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience required.
- Tire repair experience preferred.
- Perform DOT inspections and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair truck and trailer components (doors, floors, side panels, electrical and air brake systems).
- Perform preventive maintenance on tractor and trailer equipment and complete repair orders.
- Maintain repairs for Class 8 trucks, trailers and yard tractors.
- Safely operate gauges, forklifts, torches, grinders and safety tools.
- Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
