Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Mid Level Diesel Technician in Winchester, VA to join a team focused on heavy‑duty fleet maintenance. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and components, while following safety and quality standards.

The role features a second shift 2:30pm–11:00pm, a Monday–Friday schedule, weekly pay, and extensive benefits including medical/dental/vision after 30 days, PTO from day one, 401(k) match, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical repair experience on automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, brakes, tires.
• Two+ years of related training/work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Conduct standard component inspections and repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical problems using diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service tasks.
• Interact with drivers to determine nature of the issue and document work.
