Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Harrisonburg, VA, offering weekly pay, comprehensive benefits after 30 days, and a path for career growth. The role focuses on heavy-duty diesel repair and preventive maintenance, using state‑of‑the‑art diagnostics and tools.

You will work Monday–Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with weekends off, and have opportunities for certification bonuses and quarterly incentives. A CDL option is preferred, with training to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
• Replaces defective components as instructed
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Uses Shop Management System for documentation
• Follows safety, DOT, MOT guidelines
