Job summary

Stevens Transport is seeking a Diesel Technician to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on our truck fleet including Peterbilt, Kenworth, and Freightliner equipment. This role involves diagnosing engines, braking systems, electrical components, and more, across multiple shifts in a busy shop.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of heavy-duty diesel experience, basic diagnostic software knowledge, and a valid Class C license.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience.
• Basic telematics systems and diagnostic software knowledge.
• Valid Class C driver's license; able to read manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and non-routine repairs to fleet to meet DOT standards.
• Diesel and gas engine diagnostics and repair.
• Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair.
• Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair.
• Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair.
• Preventive maintenance repairs.
• Maintaining a clean and neat shop.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Summary

We are currently hiring a Diesel Technician who will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on our trucks, which include equipment by Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliners. This includes all general and complex repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing scheduled and non-routine repairs to company/contractor fleet to meet DOT standards
• Diesel and gas engine diagnostics and repair
• Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair
• Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair
• Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair
• Preventable Maintenance repairs
• Changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Maintaining a clean and neat shop
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic Tool set for job functions
• 1+ years of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience
• Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software.
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals and written instruction
• Valid Class C driver's license
• Ability to clearly read, write and speak English
• Basic math calculations
