Job summary

Stevens Transport is seeking a Mobile Diesel/Trailer Technician in Laredo, TX. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and trailers from Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliners, Utility, and Thermo King.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy-duty diesel mechanics, trailer/body experience, and ThermoKing/Carrier refrigeration repair, with a focus on DOT-compliant repairs and reliable teamwork within the Paragon Fleet Maintenance Group.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience.
• 5+ years of Trailer Mechanic experience.
• 5+ years of Trailer Body experience.
• 5+ years of ThermoKing/Carrier refrigeration repair experience.
• 3+ years vendor/client relations
• 3+ years inventory experience
• Read and understand operating/service manuals.

JOB SUMMARY: We are currently hiring a Mobile Diesel/Trailer Technician in Laredo, TX who will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on our trucks and trailers, which include equipment by Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliners, Utility, and Thermo King. This includes all general and complex repairs. Key Responsibilities

• Performing scheduled and non-routine repairs to company/contractor fleet to meet DOT standards
• Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
• Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair
• Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair
• Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair
• Repair complex cooling systems
• Repair or replace Auxilary Power Units
• Trailer Body repairs
• ThermoKing and Carrier refrigeration repairs
• Retro Fit refrigeration units
• Preventable Maintenance on tractor trailer and trailer repairs
• Changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Tire replacements and repairs
• Ordering parts and keeping up with inventory
• Maintaining a clean and neat shop
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic Tool set for job functions
• 5+ years of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience
• 5+ years of Trailer Mechanic experience
• 5+ years of Trailer Body experience
• 5+ years of ThermoKing/Carrier refrigeration repair experience
• 3+ years of vendor/client relations
• 3+ years inventory experience
• Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software.
• Microsoft Office experience
• Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals and written instruction
• Valid Class C driver's license
• Ability to clearly read, write and speak English
• Basic math calculations

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
