Paragon Leasing L.P. is seeking a Diesel Technician I to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet of trucks and trailers.

This role involves hands-on repairs across Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner equipment and Utility Trailers, with multiple shifts available. You will work in Stevens Transport's environment, applying basic tool skills, diesel diagnostics, and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience.
  • Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and understand service manuals and instructions.
  • Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and non-routine repairs to fleet to meet DOT standards.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines.
  • Diagnose and repair suspension, steering, braking and electrical systems.
  • Oil changes, battery checks and general preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Department: Paragon Fleet Maintenance Group Job Description: JOB SUMMARY: We are currently hiring a Diesel Technician I who will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on our trucks, which include equipment by Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliners and Utility Trailers. This includes all general and complex repairs. JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Performing scheduled and non-routine repairs to company/contractor fleet to meet DOT standards
  • Diesel and gas engine diagnostics and repair
  • Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair
  • Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair
  • Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair
  • Preventable Maintenance repairs and trucks and trailers
  • Trailer Body Repairs
  • Changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
  • Maintaining a clean and neat shop
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Basic Tool set for job functions
  • 1+ years of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience
  • Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software.
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals and written instruction
  • Valid Class C driver's license
  • Ability to clearly read, write and speak English

  • Using hands to handle, control or feel
  • Climbing ladders, stairs, and platforms
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds

Work Experience: 1+ years as Diesel Technician.
