Job summary

Stevens Transport is seeking a Diesel Technician I for Paragon Fleet Maintenance Group in Lakeland, FL. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections and diagnostics on trucks from Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliners and Utility Trailers, with opportunities across multiple shifts.

Responsibilities include diagnosing engines, suspensions, braking, electrical systems and performing repairs to meet DOT standards. A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience.
• Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals and written instruction.
• Valid Class C driver's license.
• Ability to clearly read, write and speak English.
• Basic math calculations.
• Cummins or Detroit Certifications (preferred).
• Thermo King Certifications (preferred).
• 609 Certifications (preferred).

We are currently hiring a Diesel Technician I who will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on our trucks, which include equipment by Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliners and Utility Trailers. This includes all general and complex repairs. Key Responsibilities

• Performing scheduled and non-routine repairs to company/contractor fleet to meet DOT standards
• Diesel and gas engine diagnostics and repair
• Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair
• Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair
• Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair
• Preventable Maintenance repairs and trucks and trailers
• Trailer Body Repairs
• Changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Maintaining a clean and neat shop
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
