Job summary

Stevens Transport's Paragon Leasing group in Dallas, TX is hiring a Diesel Technician. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks from Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliner, across multiple shifts.

The role requires diagnosing diesel engines, brakes, electrical systems, and maintaining a clean shop while meeting DOT standards. Experience with Cummins/Detroit engines is preferred and strong English and math skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience.
  • Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals and written instruction.
  • Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Ability to clearly read, write and speak English.
  • Basic math calculations.
  • Preferred Cummins or Detroit Certifications.
  • Commercial Inspection Certification.

We are currently hiring a Diesel Technician who will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on our trucks, which include equipment by Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliners. This includes all general and complex repairs. Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Performing scheduled and non-routine repairs to company/contractor fleet to meet DOT standards
  • Diesel and gas engine diagnostics and repair
  • Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair
  • Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair
  • Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair
  • Preventable Maintenance repairs
  • Changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
  • Maintaining a clean and neat shop
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
Work Experience
  • 1+ years as Diesel Technician

  • Workshift: 4 On / 3 Off (Day) (United States of America)
