Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Richmond, VA. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty vehicles, performing preventive maintenance, and working with diagnostics tools to ensure road-ready equipment.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, component inspections, and customer interactions. Eligible candidates must have a high school diploma and relevant experience; CDL-A preferred and obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of classroom training and work experience in mechanical repair or related field preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools; identifies root causes.
• Replaces defective components and performs preventive maintenance.
• Interacts with drivers to determine the nature of the issue and documents work performed.
