Ryder System, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to keep heavy-duty trucks moving. Earn $26.50 per hour on the second shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm) with a comprehensive benefits package and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical certifications preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Two years or more of relevant training/experience.
• Valid CDL Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months.
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and road test.
• Background and motor vehicle check for last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
• Identifies root causes and replaces defective components
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the issue
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Complies with safety/DOT/MOT guidelines
• Performs other support duties to assist operations.
