Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Columbus, Ohio. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for bonuses. The position emphasizes state-of-the-art diagnostics and hands-on repair of heavy‑duty vehicles.

Solid candidates have fuel system/engine repair skills, a high school diploma or technical certification, and the ability to obtain CDL-A within 6 months. Second shift hours are 3:00 pm–11:30 pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required
• Replaces defective components as instructed
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Works in accordance with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations.
