Job summary

First Student Inc. in East Hartford, CT is hiring a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair school buses in our CREC Schools shop.

This hands-on, Monday–Friday, day-shift role keeps the fleet safe and reliable for students and drivers. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs; benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid holidays and vacation, boot and safety glasses allowances, and opportunities for ASE certification and career

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to support safety and reliability.
• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Complete work orders accurately and on time and assist with mobile repairs when needed.
