Job summary

Penske is seeking a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level in Portland, OR. This role focuses on preventative maintenance and minor repairs for a well-maintained fleet, using Penske's industry-leading tools.

You will work with experienced technicians to learn our maintenance processes and certification programs, with ample opportunity for growth. The position emphasizes safety, reliability, and hands-on training while offering a stable schedule and access to advanced vehicle maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
• Using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication, plus some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
• Collaborate with your manager to learn new skills through training and hands-on coaching.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
