Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing, Portland, OR, is seeking a Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs across a diverse fleet. You’ll work with state-of-the-art tools and receive industry-certified training to grow your career in a safety‑driven environment.

You should be mechanically inclined with 1–2 years of auto or diesel repair experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong teamwork and customer‑service skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must comply with Penske safety policies (DOT/OSHA).
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and ensuring vehicles are safe for customers.
  • Using Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
  • Performing preventative maintenance repairs (tires, lubrication, electrical, cooling) on gas/diesel engines.
  • Partnering with your manager to learn new skills through Penske training and hands-on coaching.
  • Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
