Job summary

Penske is seeking a Technician in Lacey, WA to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You will use Penske tools and diagnostics to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics, ensuring safety and reliability for customers.

You'll learn Penske's vehicle maintenance processes through hands-on coaching from master technicians, with access to industry-leading training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Comply with Penske safety policies including DOT/OSHA requirements.
• Willingness to travel for training in near geography.
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools/technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication; some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas/diesel engines.
• Partner with manager to learn new skills via technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Support other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
