Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a qualified Technician in Romulus, MI to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You’ll use Penske’s tools and diagnostics, logging repairs and performing maintenance to keep vehicles safe and on the road.

Whether you’re starting out or expanding repair experience, this role offers growth opportunities and hands-on training from seasoned technicians. The work is varied, safety-focused, and centered on keeping customers moving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work with Penske tools and diagnostics.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; able to work in a team.
• DOT/OSHA safety policies awareness and ability to pass screenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles to ensure safety and reliability for customers.
• Use Penske tools and diagnostics to log and complete repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic electrical/cooling system tasks on gas/diesel engines.
• Collaborate with manager and peers to learn new skills through Penske training.
• Take on additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
