Job summary

Penske is seeking an entry-level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III in Plymouth, MI. You’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, gaining hands-on training from experienced technicians. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and ongoing skill development.

You’ll work with Penske’s advanced diagnostic tools, logging repairs, and rotating tires while expanding capabilities through the Technician Certification Program and on-the-job coaching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1-2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and tool handling.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and inspect vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Log, research and complete repairs using Penske’s tools and technologies.
• Perform preventative maintenance including tire rotation and lubrication.
• Learn new skills through Penske's technician training and coaching.
• Support other projects as assigned by supervisor.
