Job summary

Penske is seeking a Diesel Technician Mechanic III Entry Level at our Franklin, MA location. You will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, using Penske's tools and training to keep vehicles on the road.

No day is the same—training from experienced techs, growth opportunities, and a stable career path are offered. This role supports a 2:30pm–11:00pm Sunday–Thursday shift with starting pay of $31.51/hr plus shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Doing preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
