Job summary

Penske is seeking a qualified Technician at our Milan, IL location to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll log and diagnose using Penske tools and training, with opportunities for skill growth and certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow safety policies (DOT/OSHA).
• Willingness to travel for training; safety-sensitive and DOT-regulated role.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance, tire rotation, lubrication, and some electrical/cooling system work on gas/diesel engines.
• Partnering with manager to learn new skills via technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
